I joined Lindi and her husband at The Range in Tokai for their mini-maternity shoot. They got married here and had their wedding photos done in this setting so its full of memories for them. They were troopers, meeting me just before sunrise on a chilly winter’s day. But the gorgeous dreamy light was well worth it and came through on their images. I look forward to capturing the next step in their journey: the day they meet their child. Mini-maternity sessions are offered complimentary with all my birth packages. Its 30 minutes, one location, one outfit and 15 gorgeous images for you to treasure long after you are done being pregnant.

These girls are miracles. Born at just around 1 kg each, they were rare and premature mono-amniotic twins. Elizabeth & Isabella’s parents had a hard start to parenting as they worked together to help them thrive and grow, finally able to go home after a long NICU stay. They were gifted my services, which is such a thoughtful and long lasting gift idea. All of their images were taken in the comfort of their home, as I do with all my clients. Its less hassle taking transporting babies and creates for lovely intimate images in your own space. That then frame well as they go with the decor of your home. Check out Elizabeth and Isabella’s beautiful hair patterns and little bits of emerging baby fat (a welcome relief to their parents, I am sure).
To their parents, you are an inspiration of team work and hope.
Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your journey. Enjoy your family of four.

Who says birth photos will be ones you “never frame or display”? Not true. I recently shot a first birthday party for a client, and was delighted to see both her BIRTH and newborn images on display along with wedding photos (stunning, but not taken by me). Two of the most significant days in her life. Birth images are the top corners, bottom row first & third from the left. Newborn images are the other baby photos we took the next day. If you want memories like this for a wall one day, let’s talk.

Georgia’s parents asked me to stay the night and hosted me in a cottage on their property so that the next morning I could capture their newborn session just before my flight back to Cape Town. I was amazed they could even pull this off at 6am, but they are champs. If you have yet to see their birth story, be sure to do that, its incredible. Meet gorgeous Ms. Georgia only 26 hours new. Its a wondrous thing to even interact with a baby this fresh to the world. Captured in the comfort of her parent’s bedroom, are memories of their family just becoming four.
